"Meet bigshots and exchange ideas" symposium successfully held
During the Dragon Boat Festival, "Meet bigshots and exchange ideas " symposium was successfully held on May 30. Renowned finance writer Wu Xiaobo and partner of Toutoushidao Fund and chairman of Puhua Capital Cao Guoxiong were invited to the symposium .They exchanged deeply and thoughtfully with group staff.The whole process was very interesting.Present at the symposium were Cao Jie, group chairman, Zhai Lingyun, group general manager, Guo Hongbin, deputy group general manager, Xie Zhengpin, member of WanXin Media Party committee and Qian Fangjun, secretary of the Committee for Discipline Inspection of Wanxin Media and 22 staff representatives. Leaders and guests from cooperation partners ,including Wiscom, Yintai Group, Daqian Ecology & Landscape, Landsea Group, Xinning Logistics, Binhua Group, Chaoyang Decoration also took part in the event.
This facing bigshots discussion was intended to probe deep into the approaches for transformation and upgrading of the traditional state-owned enterprises in new era. Through interactions and topic lectures, group employees held discussion with bigshots on hot economic and social development issues in order to contribute new ideas and wisdom to create "Wanxin plus" business ecosphere in new era. To better explore hot topics that group employees showed interest in,the corporation management department began a topic collection activity within the group since May 19 .Altogether there were 232 employees who participated in the topic collection activity and 611 effective topics were received. Due to the limited discussion time, 22 staff representatives with typical topics finally came to the symposium and met the bigshots.
At the beginning of the discussion, President Cao, on behalf of the group, expressed his warm welcome to the two bigshots, then he briefly reviewed the phased results of the group's reform and innovation in recent years, emphasizing that the group was still in the midst of a crisis of survival, and there was only a slim chance of surviving so the group had no choice but move ahead relentlessly. Furthermore, on the next step of practice and development, he proposed to further explore the way of disruptive innovation to overhaul each business model of the group, suggesting that the group would finally become an integrator as well as a facilitator for people’s lifelong learning and education by integrating the whole resources obtained on the” reading plus” platform so as to promote the group transformation from a traditional cultural enterprise to a digital platform enterprise.

After that,staff representatives made questions to bigshots with topics covering possible changes on future education:Is new retail the development trend of future retailing industry;What kind of entrepreneurial projects worth investing in;What qualities and abilities should young staff have to become managers and so on .Each one present was awed by the bigshots professional guidance and prospective thinking and vision.

Wu noted in the era of cross-border integration, the former four Chinese dividends were disappearing,namely globalization, made-in-China, the Internet economy, and unbalanced development theory.At the same time,as the old dividends disappear,another four new dividends are emerging and supporting us to enter into a new developing stage.That is,the mismatch of supply-and -demand and consumption upgrades of the new middle class, the emergence of new craftsmen, the drive of new technologies and the rise of new housing styles. He gave a new envision and deconstruction of bookstores from consumers, products, channels, pricing and core competence, proposing that time after 2017 would be a non-standard era and the logic behind the business model needed to be redefined.

Finally, Cao Jie remarked that he learned and inspired a lot from the two bigshots sharing,pointing out that as a traditional publication distributing enterprise, the connotation of the group has undergone great changes along its development .In the process of fast running, we cannot lose the most essential thing-our core strength -the 60 years’ accumulating service education force of ground promotion. In the mobile Internet era and in the future, we should further use our relative advantages to provide the best products and services to consumers. As for the transformation of the group, Cao Jie drew from the successful transformation experience from Wu Xiaobo,summing up three factors.One is lifelong learning; two is independent thinking; three is self-education. He further believed that any person's success, any change in an enterprise, began with self denial. Only through denying the past success can reshaping be completed.
